Progetto Rwanda seeks to guarantee access to education in the poorest areas of the country by restoring, renovating and expanding existing school structures, as was the case for the Primary School of Kibungo, a rural center located in the south-east of the country. The school structure was in a state of serious deterioration: built in an area exposed to strong atmospheric disturbances, never affected by maintenance interventions, it had now become even too small, with a very limited reception capacity, for the needs of a population in expansion. The renovation works, which lasted about a year, ended in 2009 and involved 10 classrooms, which were completely renovated and made safe.
