Opened in January 2018, it serves the entire Kibaya community, i.e. more than 5,000 people.
The Rwandan health system has been gradually and painstakingly reconstituted thanks to the commitment made by the Government in addressing the terrible situation left by the genocide. However, still today there are many problems affecting the population, especially in rural areas, where interventions are slow in arriving. This situation causes serious limits to the usability of medical assistance due to the long distances that separate the sick from the health facilities, an obstacle that often becomes insurmountable for the poorest.
To contribute to the resolution of these problems, the Association has decided to create a Poste de Santé in Kibaya: the first and only outpatient clinic in the area.
The Poste de Santé was built and made functional in close collaboration with the local health authorities, to which, on the day of the inauguration, it was officially handed over for future management.
